Don't hate me 'cause I'm...

...blessed!

(or What I did on my Blog-cation... part 2)

If you read my last post, you saw those sandy toes
intermingled in the photos of our many snowfalls .
Well, as you probably guessed,
there are NO sandy beaches in upstate NY
at least, not in February!

I was lucky enough (thanks to the wonderful Mr. U!)
to join my blogless pals, Deb and Laura,

Deb, Laura and I on formal night

on a warm weather vacation in early February...

Bonaire

a 10-day Caribbean quilting cruise !!!!

free sewing time

We paired lots fun in the sun...

Fun in the Caribbean

with three days of classes!

having fun learning at Quilt Seminars at Sea, February 2011

I learned about fusible reverse applique and geometric quilt design
with Charlotte Warr Andersen and made funky fusible houses with Laura Wasilowski.

Those new skills I learned in the classes
along with the stunning and inspiring scenery of the Caribbean

My creation

will surely influence my journey (the one in my sewing room... not the one at sea!)

Stay tuned...
At home with my sewing utensils!

  2. Fabulous!!! Those Caribbean colors will surely inspire you ~ unlike the not so brights we've got going on here! Bring that sunshine back with you ~ please!

  3. Is it Ok when I’m just a tiny bit jealous? We have so many colourful people from Aruba, Curacoa and Bonaire living here. They know how to celebrate life!

  8. Well, I am a bit jealous, too, but then perhaps we might pick up some of the wonderful stuff you learned in the challenge. Good on you for having such a dream holiday!
