With the deadline looming for my Hawaiian quilt, I set out yesterday morning to purchase some border fabric and I let my wild side choose....
with a close up of the right upper corner...
and a full quilt top shot taken in the dark at 8:50 PM last night.
How am I ever to quilt this thing???? Any ideas would be appreciated!!!!! Also, I am curious to know how do you put a value to your quilt(s)?
I am off to the gym to run and let some ideas brew while you sit here and ponder my dilemma!
Thanks!
Fantastic, tropical choice. Looks great !!!!!
ReplyDeleteWell if you had time I would do specialized quilting that fits each block, but I have a feeling that you just need to get it done, right??!! SOOOOO I would just do an all-over pattern...ooooh how about some free motioned waves all over?! Just rows and rows of waves. Very appropriate for the quilt, and would be easy and fast! If you feel like doing a trip down here to NH, I'll help ;)
ReplyDeleteWhen I have done letters I have stippled around them. Sometimes on houses I have made shingles. It depends on how big the houses are.
ReplyDeleteI like the waves-idea for quilting. Specialized quilting would be beautiful, but would take a very very long time!!
ReplyDeleteI have no idea how you would set a value for something like this....I read a post on that somewhere....will be back!
Oh...and it is sooooo spectacular!!!!
Here is the post about pricing. I don't know if it's helpful at all..

I'm glad others were able to give you some good suggestions as I'm not experienced enough to do that. All I do know is...the quilt top looks wonderful!
ReplyDeleteI think that the pattern, fabrics and your design are beautiful - therefore do a simple all-over pattern that doesn't take away from that. Beautiful work!
ReplyDeleteHey Upstate! WOW! it looks awesome!
ReplyDeleteI sort of drew mine out as I went along.. I added pictures through the quilting, outlined most. added somd suns and flowers, clouds etc. I love it! I'm ready for the beach!
I like the idea of all over waves. me, I'd stipple, stipple, stipple! It looks great! I estimate the final bid of $4300! :)
