Suffice to say that I started the ordering process a week ago (new insurance, new mail order pharmacy) and someone on the other line didn't give me all the info I needed (like they won't call me for 4 business days if they don't hear from the doctor's office) and so... a week later, they still don't have the prescription from the doctor's office, which means the insulin hasn't even shipped and by the way, it takes 6 days for processing!!!! but they have my credit card number for the copay!
I will try to stay positive... I still have a nice local pharmacy for back up!
Yup, remember Sloppy!??? (aka Sugarbaby) She has struck again... with a vengeance!!!But look on the positive side.... she has her clean laundry NEATLY piled on top of her dresser!!!!!
And in spite of the fact that the mercury hasn't been above 25 degrees (farenheit) for a few days, I am still getting some exercise in...
6 mile run yesterday and 4.9 mile run today on the treadmill!Exercise can help me stay positive (even if my Ipod keeps freezing up)!!!!
And lastly, I recently joined Jacquie's Project Improv! This a real positive!!!
It has been a great kick in the rear to get me moving on a quilt that I am supposed to have ready by late next week (how about that for pressure?!) for a raffle at a gala hosted by our local chapter of JDRF to raise funds for research into a cure for diabetes!
The rotary cutter has been feverishly slicing, the fabric has been madly flying (everywhere! eat your heart out, Eleanor Burns!)
I draped some batting over my french doors in the sewing room to use as a makeshift design wall.
a strawberry daquiri which is in dire need of an appliqued strawberry hanging over the glass...
Oh, my...that pharmacy stuff is SO frustrating, isn't it??? Geesh.....
ReplyDeleteAnd....the photos of Sugarbaby's room gave me flashback nightmares of my girls' rooms when they were in their teens. UGH....
I'm happy to see the Aloha quilt in progress as it helped chase away the shakes I got from seeing those photos of a messy teen room!!! I'm sure you'll get it done on time AND it will be beautiful and raise a lot of money for your JDF chapter.
it cracks me up to see you talk about your daughter's mess, then you have pictures of your own. hee hee.
ReplyDeleteand you know that one wool blanket i was telling you about (the only wool in our house)? it is exactly like the blanket on your daughter's bed. with a few gonzo holes.
I do understand the medical stuff, they accidentally turned off my sons insurance and it has taken 2 months to get it fixed, and I have had to pay for medicine that was to be covered. It is very fustrating, persevere, with daily calls they eventually will fix it for you even if it just to get you to quit calling them!:-)))
ReplyDeleteHer room makes me smile, it must be a teen thing!
Your donation quilt looks great, i am sure they appreciate the funds it will bring.
Lisa! you're too funny. And i'm quite pleased to see a room that clearly imitates my daughter's rooms... well, with one exception, there's no room on their dressers for piling clean laundry, so, there are loosely designated piling locations on the floor.
ReplyDeleteKeep the tiki. It is awesome, and so appropriate for the quilt! I actually think you did a fantastic job with it, and I love the improv logs in the middle of his belly!! The bedroom...sigh...that is how my kids' rooms look and they're only 4,5, and 8. And I love that orange paint - looks like my kitchen!
ReplyDeleteGood luck on the pharmacy stuff! Frustrating indeed!
ReplyDeleteYour daughter’s room makes me smile a big smile!!
Love the blocks you made for the very bright and sunny Aloha quilt!
hopefully that medical fiasco gets cleared up asap!
ReplyDeletei see a trend hmmm...like mother like daughter just different rooms??
I'm really liking the fabrics you use for the Aloha quilt. And I like your tiki!
Lisa! Seeing your daughters room makes me scared for what lies in store for me in a few more years! LOL Love how the quilt is coming along, you'll be sewing down the binding in no time!
ReplyDeletegood luck with the meds! I know how frustrating that can get.
ReplyDeleteI have two sisters that would get along really well with your daughter...I don't know how they can live in such a mess!
i think my son's room could rival your daughter's...yikes clean one day...disaster the next. you are making amazing progress on this quilt. i ADORE the tiki...it's close to my fav...except for that hibiscus.
ReplyDeletelove your free pieced tropical themed stuff-very cool!
